The LX2b laser controller board is a reliable 2-axis GRBL Plug & Play upgrade for your K40 or larger C02 laser and works with the latest LightBurn or Laser GRBL software running on Windows, Linux or MAC. Purpose built for 20W to 100W C02 lasers. The LX2b board can be directly bolted into a K40, larger laser, or even your own custom laser such as the popular K40 12 x 24 modification!
The Vms-GRBL firmware has been optimized for reliable, trouble-free operation and has added features you won't get anywhere else. Features such as axis locking to hold position so your design doesn't shift, high-speed laser engraving and cutting, precision laser PWM control for outstanding grayscale reproduction and fine line detail, X & Y driver current control to optimize for better holding torque, speed and cooler motor operation maximizing driver and stepper motor life. The Vms-GRBL firmware comes preloaded onto the LX2b board. The LX2b settings are updated through the LightBurn console and machine settings. All Vms-GRBL firmware updates are free and easy to upgrade through the Vms Bootloader tool!
Note: The laser power supply 24V power rail can supply 1 amp current for the X & Y drivers and stepper motors. The drivers by default are set to 500mA for each axis which is considered a "light load use". If your laser is not a standard K40 or an Omtech K40 then you will need an external 24V power supply such as the one in the options above. If you have your own 24V power supply, please contact us to see if it will work with the LX2b board.
